Eleonore N. Snyder

Eleonore Natemeyer Snyder died at her home on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 12 days.

Eleonore was born on August 1,1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Paula and Ernest Natemeyer. She married Philip J. Snyder on June 20,1964.

Eleonore was a graduate of Cleveland Heights/University Heights High School, the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing and Kent State University. Mrs. Snyder taught at the University of Akron, Kent State University and Theodore Roosevelt High School.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Alter Guild. Eleonore enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, and entertaining loved ones in her home. The Snyder family appreciates the loving care provided by Tracey, Christina, Connie, Donna, Carole, Kim, Carol, Betsy, Alex and many others. Support from The Hospice of the Western Reserve allowed her to remain comfortably in her home.

Eleonore is remembered as a devoted wife and mother, and her loss is mourned by all who knew her. She lived and died with a faith in the Lord, our savior Jesus Christ. She was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, lived in the Faith, and was received into heaven in this faith.

Survived by her daughters, Julia Snyder Ornella and Dr. Paula Jean Snyder; brother, Dr. Walter Natemeyer (Mona); brother in-laws, George Frank and George Snyder; sister-in-law, Jean Mugler; grandchildren, Gemma Ornella and Amelia Britton (Alexander); nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Bronnenkant, Michael Mugler, Philip Snyder, Amy Doldo, George Snyder, Jane Snyder, Dr. Jean Frank, Christine Walanka, and Darren Natemeyer; her special dog child, Gracie; and many great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Philip John Snyder; parents, Paula and Ernest Natemeyer; sister, Marian Frank; brother, Fred Natemeyer; daughter, Ann Snyder, grandson, Devin Ornella, brother-in-law, George Mugler; sister-in-law, Leah Snyder; niece, Elizabeth Snyder; and nephew, George Frank.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main St., Kent, OH 44240. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 931 E. Main St. Kent, OH 44240, with Pastor David Lathrop officiating. Private burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
