She loved gardening, travel, shopping, bird watching, reading books, the Ocean (which included lobster & crab), fishing, cooking, cats, family, friends and computer connections. Happiness to Betty was often hot soup, a warm cat and a good book. As a young woman she was an organist at the United Church of Canada.
Those who knew her knew that she was kind, loving, playful and generous. She was a proud Newfoundlander. Born in 1932 she was a citizen of the United Kingdom until Newfoundland became a province of Canada in 1949. In 1967 she became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America. On October 11, 2011 she became a citizen of a better country-the heavenly one.
We her friends and family will miss this singular gift of God to us whom we call, mother, grandmother, aunt, wife, sister and friend. We her family and friends wish to thank God for her wonderful life and that she is "going home" to be with those who have gone ahead of her.
