Elouise D. Keelan, 94, of Hudson, died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Gables of Hudson.
She was born October 12, 1922 in Fairfield, TX to Robert Van and Julia Irma (Gilpin) Day. Elouise was a member of the Hudson United Methodist Church and the PEO Philanthropic Organization. She was a member of the Stow Home and Garden Club and enjoyed painting, stained glass and many other crafts. Always a gracious hostess, Elouise enjoyed entertaining as well as interior design and creating lush and beautiful gardens. During the 1970's, she served as chair of the Republican Women of Webster County, Iowa. Elouise also taught stained glass classes at the Fort Dodge Community College.
She is survived by sons, Leo D. (Jan) Keelan of Minot, ND and Thomas F. Keelan of Oceanside, CA; daughter, Kathie (Joel) Slater of Kent; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Floyd Keelan; brothers, Dennis Van Day and Thomas Frederick Day.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday, January 25th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Graveside services will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, January 28th at Oakland Cemetery in Navasota, TX.
