Eugene Glen Baker, 85, of Kent, went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at his home.
He was born February 19, 1929 in Akron to Glen and Alice (Werner) Baker. Eugene retired from Ellet Neon where he worked as an electrician and glass blower. He was a member of Truth Baptist Church and American Legion Post #496.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa E. (Stadler), whom he married on December 9, 1972; daughters, Kathy (Bill) Osdyke of Brady Lake, Marlene (Jim) Vogt of Sheffield Lake, and Norma Baker of Ravenna; step-daughters, Cynthia Thomsen of Akron and Carol Ferreiro of Florida; seventeen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; nephews, Hylton Baker Jr. and Douglas Baker; brother and sister-in-law, Peter J. (Dee) Stadler of Sorrento, FL; and sister-in-law, Rose Snyder of Lady Lake, FL. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; and daughter, Lynda; his parents; Theresa's parents, Pete and Virginia Stadler; and brothers, Dwayne Baker and Hylton Baker.
Calling hours will be held 5-8 PM Monday, January 26th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, OH. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 27th at Truth Baptist Church with Pastor Roy Teague officiating. Burial services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
