Forrest Fitzwater, 89, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Arbors at Streetsboro.
He was born September 30, 1925 in Belington, WV to Charles and Jessie P. (England) Fitzwater. Forrest worked as a machinist for Gougler Machine Company in Kent, retiring after 40 years of service. He worked part time for Clark's Excavating. Forrest was a veteran of the Army serving with the 534th Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment during World War II. He was a life member of VFW Post 410 in Belington, West Virginia.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie B. (Zirkle) Fitzwater, whom he married on July 5, 1951; son, Ray "Shorty" (Nancy Henthorn) Fitzwater; grandson, Isaac (Ivy Bell) Fitzwater of Kent; great grandchildren, Brianna Billock, Mariah Billock, Kailey Fitzwater, Chelsea Bell, Megan Bell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dolly Booth, Lurena Cooper, Margaret Poe, Nettie Booth and Opel Koontz; and brother, William Fitzwater.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, September 10th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent with Kevin O'Brien officiating, where calling hours will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Entombment will be held at Grandview Memorial Park.
