Foster G. Ewing of Kent Ohio passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at the age of 94.
Beloved husband of the late Nancy (Everhart) Ewing; devoted father of Ralph (Deborah), David (Marvalee), and Mark (Theo) Ewing; loving grandfather of Lisa, Erica, Eric and Alex Ewing and a dear friend to many.
He is preceded in death by his siblings Winson and Edwin Ewing, Rosalie Dryden, Louise Morton and special friend Myrna Hirt.
After serving his country in the U.S. Army in both W.W.II and the Korean wars and graduating from Ohio State University, Foster was a research scientist by trade, working mainly in the food industry. His endeavors led to 2 patents and numerous creative ventures. He enjoyed woodworking and furniture restoration, gardening, especially roses, opera, cooking and reading. Fun loving and energetic, he loved visiting with friends and telling stories of growing up on a dairy farm in Cambridge Ohio.
He was a faith filled member of the United Methodist Church of Kent for over 25 years where he enjoyed being involved in the men’s group.
Nothing meant more to Foster than spending time with Nancy, Myrna, his son’s, and grandchildren.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial services will be held at the United Methodist Church of Kent on June 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM with internment in St. Louis, MO.
