Frank C. Paskey, 93, of Kent, passed away peacefully at his apartment on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Frank was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Born on May 5, 1918 in Kent, he was the son of Leo and Anna Paskey. He lived in Kent for most of his life, and was a member of St. Patrick Church. For elementary schooling, he attended South School and St. Patrick School, and graduated from Roosevelt High School. After graduation in 1936, he joined the U. S. Navy, where he received additional training as a machinist. After discharge from the Navy, he worked in local machine shops as a tool & die maker. The last 30 years of his working career were related to the plastic industry, with the first few years in the machine shop building plastic molds, then nearly 28 years in the Engineering Department designing plastic molds. At age 63, he retired from Colonial Machine Co. in Kent as a Plastic Mold Design Engineer.
After retiring, he worked for his son, Ron, as a Tour Director and Escort for Paskey Tours, a position he and his wife Sandra enjoyed for 14 years. In June, 1998, due to Sandra's health, he had to retire from Paskey Tours and devote full time care for Sandra. Frank was a man of many talents. He enjoyed working with wood, building child-size cabinets for his grandchildren and special items for his children. He is survived by his children, Ron (Dee) Paskey and Sylvia (Nick) Battaglia of Kent; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra to whom he was married for 67 years; and brothers, Walter, Joseph, and Edward.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Monday, February 20th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 21st at St. Patrick Church with Father Richard Pentello officiating. Private burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick School Endowment Fund, 127 Portage Street, Kent OH 44240.
