Gaynelle M. Stuver

December 22, 1928 — August 25, 2011

Her family was her center; her grandchildren were the light of her life and her friendships crossed generations.

Born in Silver Hill, WV to Clyde and Roberta (Lowe) McCoy she lived her adult life in Ravenna and then Kent. She was a homemaker who knew that family was the center of the home. She reveled in sharing her home with family, friends, family's friends and friends ' friends and families. Everyone was always welcome.

She enjoyed playing bridge, lunching with friends, preparing and sharing good food and reading a good book. She loved cheering on her grandchildren in their sports endeavors and opened her home to their teammates and friends.

She was a member of the Red Hot Steppers chapter of the Red Hat Society and recently hosted the club's birthday celebration at her home. She was a long-time member of the Twin Lakes Bridge Club and this summer made an RV road trip with the entire club for a day of bridge with a former member. She was a long-time member of the Women's Club of Kent and also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and served as a board member.

Travels with family and friends, including many summer vacations at Dale Hollow Lake, IN (where she made life-long friends) and trips to Destin, FL and cruises were always fun, but home always beckoned.

She passed away unexpectedly at home and leaves her husband of nearly 62 years, Jerry Stuver of Kent whom she married Nov. 19, 1949; son, Neal (Lorie) Stuver of Kent; daughter, LuAnn (Buddy) Rogers of Ravenna; grandchildren, Kyle Stuver, Ryan Stuver and Haley Stuver, all of Kent; brothers, Nile (MaryLou) McCoy of Anacortes, W A, Gary (Fran) McCoy of Ravenna and Herb (Joanne) McCoy of Burbank and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by brothers Bud (Clyde) McCoy and Lane McCoy.

To honor her memory live each day to the fullest, reach out and be a friend and "Don't borrow trouble."

A Celebration of Life will be held 5:30 til 7:30 PM Wednesday September 14th in the Fellowship Hall of the Kent United Church of Christ
1400 East Main Street, Kent.
