Gladys B. Longstreth, 94, of Kent, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Kent Healthcare Center.
She was born April 5, 1920 in Ravenna, to Ozwin and Vella (Holman) Delin. Gladys was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Streetsboro. She loved to crochet and knit with many of the items being made for the benefit of family and friends. Gladys loved to spend time with her family and friends and play Bingo at Kentway. She volunteered and participated in food and donation drives especially for the Freedom House and Miller House.
She is survived by son, Bill Smith of Ravenna; daughters, Dorothy (Ted) Watters of Garrettsville, Virginia Smith of Kent, Roberta Smith of Kent, Jean (Harold) Myers of Kent, Ellen (Lanville) Elkins of Kent, Cindi Harriman of Fresno, Cheryl Longstreth of Ravenna, Sue (Mark) Charlton of Shalersville, Nancy (Tom) Haymaker of Ravenna; thirty nine grandchildren; fifty two great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence M. Longstreth; sons, Donald Smith and Larry Longstreth; grandson, Ben Proctor; brother, Robert Delin; and sister, Edna Ehlert.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Friday, July 18th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 19 with Pastor Gary Beck officiating.
