Gloria Jean Ferry (Bianchi), 90, of Kent, Ohio, passed away on September 26, 2023. She was born on February 17, 1933, in Kent, Ohio, to the late Edward and Mary Bianchi. Gloria was a lifelong devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Gloria is survived by her loving children, Linda McColloch (James McColloch), Diana Sferra, Carole Rogers (Donald Rogers), Stephen Sferra Sr. (Lisa Sferra), and Vincent Sferra (Lonea Moore). She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Nicole Hill (Jason Doyle), Stephen Sferra Jr., Dominic Sferra, Antonio Sferra, Nicholas Sferra (Kaitlyn Sferra), Vincent Sferra Jr. (Lexi Sferra), and Anthony Sferra (Brenna Sferra). Additionally, she leaves behind great-grandchildren Jordan Smith, Livia Sferra, Vincenzo Sferra, and Mackenzie Sferra. She is also survived by her loving brother Robert Bianchi of California. Her beloved rescue dogs Bella and Peppino miss her terribly already.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ferry Sr., her son Robert Ferry Jr., her mother Mary Bianchi (Cimerelli), her father Edward Bianchi, and her brother David Bianchi.
For more than 13 years in her role as Assistant Director with the Northeastern Ohio Easter Seals Society, Gloria was always generous with her love and prayers. She tirelessly devoted many years to loving and helping disabled children, and just hearing her voice was a blessing.
Because of her oldest son Bobby having severe disabilities, other mothers placed their faith in her and felt supported in the services they received for their children. Always an optimist, the twinkle in Gloria's eyes meant success to come in hiring, events, and therapy outcomes.
Her family was her world. She put everyone before herself, making a home that was filled with love. Her cooking was the best, and her recipes are now treasured family heirlooms.
Visitation will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kent, Ohio, on Monday, October 2, 2023, starting at 9:00 am. Services will be immediately following at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and subsequently a graveside ceremony at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
