Gloria Ann Tronge

September 24, 1942 — April 2, 2016

After a courageous battle with Ovarian cancer, Gloria passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at home surrounded by family. She was born September 24, 1942 to Corado and Cecilia (Conley) Gambaccini in Kent.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Dan Tronge, whom she married in 1963; daughter, Wendy (Tom) Holliday; grandsons, Jacob and Joey; son, Doug (Robin) Tronge; and grandchildren, Jake, Layne, Hayden and Leah. Her unofficial adoptive daughter, Kelly (Gregg) Perkowski; and grandchildren, Evan and Keon held a special place in her heart.

Family was a large part of her life, her sisters, Diane Dean, Mary Ann (deceased) (Tim) Ray, Sandy (Gary) Benshoff; and brother, Tom (Jane) Gambaccini always found time to be together. She will be missed by her brother-in-law, Don Tronge. Her many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews brought her joy and laughter. The Gambaccini/Conley family remains close and have been a great friend to Gloria. Gloria's friend Marty Sermersheim was like a sister to her; she and her husband Mike went on many adventures with Gloria and Dan.

Gloria and Dan took up ballroom dancing in 1990 and spent decades making new and lasting friendships, teaching others and coordinating dances like their New Year 's Eve and quad dances. She also spent time with the Brimfield Garden club.

Gloria retired, after more than 30 years at Kent State University. Her retirement brought the opportunity to travel and garden. Though you would always see Gloria smiling, she was happiest spending time with family and friends, wine tasting and tending to her flowers.

She was lucky to have so many wonderful caring family members, friends and neighbors. We are all thankful for the many cards and gifts of meals over the last couple years as she bravely battled cancer.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Brimfield Garden Club: checks payable to Brimfield Garden Club - 2935 Reservoir Dr. Mogadore, OH 44260.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Christa Nagel and nurse, Anne Heugel of University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, First Light, Harbor Light Hospice, and nurse, Sarah of Akron Summa Hospital. Their gentle and loving care of Gloria brought us comfort and peace.

Calling hours are 2-4 PM with services following at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent.
