Griffin Anderson Belden, age 21, of Kent, passed away unexpectedly after a car crash on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Akron City Hospital. He was born March 29, 2002 in Akron to Garth Belden and Mindy Niehaus.
Griffin graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 2020, and went on to study Computer Science at Kent State University. He never turned down an offer to go on a road trip or vacation, and was the best co-pilot ever. Griffin loved visiting Walt Disney World, going on cruises, and riding Millennium Force at Cedar Point. At home, Griffin was an avid video game player, and enjoyed chatting with his family and friends. We all appreciated Griffin’s humor, calm demeanor, and ability to navigate any situation.
Griffin is survived by his mother Mindy and step-father Garon Niehaus; brother Spencer; sister Lynn; uncle Jeremy and aunt Tracie Anderson; paternal grandparents George and Helena Belden; maternal grandfather Daniel Anderson; step-grandparents Gary and Vicki Niehaus; and cousins Hannah, Grace, Lauren, Ethan, and Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his father Garth Belden; uncle Samuel Belden; and maternal grandmother Joy Anderson.
