Harold F. "Pee Wee" Knapp, 88, of Cuyahoga Falls, reunited with his life-long love "Rosie" Monday, May 9th, 2016 and they will now be forever at each other's side.
Harold was born June 8, 1927 in Kent, Ohio to Frank and Bessie (Kline) Knapp. He attended St. Patrick's School in Kent and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in1945. He went on to serve his country in the United States Navy where he served as a Machinist Mate Third Class aboard the U.S.S. Hornet CV-12 until July of 1946.
Harold enjoyed a fulfilling career in construction excavation and retired as a Project Superintendent from The Ruhlin Company. He was an avid woodworker and took great pleasure in making beautiful furniture and one-of-a-kind items for his family. He enjoyed life and was always up for a game of Euchre with friends and family.
Married to the love of his life, Rosemary (Johnson) Knapp, on August 14, 1948 in Kent, together they raised 7 children, enjoyed 9 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and were blessed with 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary, son Ronnie Knapp, and step-grandson James. He is survived by sons, Richard (Bonnie) Knapp of Stow, Randy (Carrie) Knapp of Cleveland Hts, David Knapp of Cuyahoga Falls, Daniel (Marcia) Knapp of Appleton, WI; daughters, Cathy Dillinger of Stow, Debra Hunsicker of Stow, Tracy (Vasilije) Konjovic of Streetsboro; grandchildren, Chris, Eric, Jennifer, Trisha, Brian, Brett, Brittney, Regan, Chase, Daniel, Patrick, Carrie; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Walter, and Timothy.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 13th from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home 628 West Main Street Kent, OH. A private funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Harold's honor to The American Legion Post 808, Military Services Center, Simmons Hall 120, Akron, OH 44325-6208 or a charitable organization of your choice that serves our United States Veterans.
