Harold E. Snowberger, 92, of Kent, died Friday, August 9, 2013 at Akron General Hospital.
He was born June 19, 1921 in Akron, to Arnold and Irene (Snowberger) Snowberger. Harold was a 1939 Graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School. He was a veteran of the Army serving in WW II and attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. Harold retired from Gougler Machine as a Superintendent after 42 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Kent for more than 50 years. Harold was a member of Rockton Lodge F & AM, Toastmasters; a Little League Baseball coach, an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed playing cards.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Irene (Smith) Snowberger; sons, Dan (Sue) Snowberger of Stow, David (Pamela) Snowberger of Las Vegas, NV, Mark (Nancy) Snowberger of Macedonia and Scott (Tracy) Snowberger of Fort Mill, SC; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three brothers; one sister. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Snowberger, one brother; and one sister.
Calling hours will be held 10:00 - 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 14th at First Christian Church 335 W. Main Street Kent, where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 14th with Rev. Mike Fetty officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church Of Kent, 335 W. Main Street, Kent, OH 44240.
