Helen Fleischmann Yahner Buhler of Uniontown passed away on April 6th at the age of 88.
Helen was born May 15, 1929 in Canton after her parents and older sister emigrated from Munich, Germany. She graduated from Canton Lehman High School, Keystone Junior College, and Kent State University, where she received her bachelor's degree in education. Helen was a teacher at Brimfield and Rootstown elementary schools. She opened the Rusty Robin gift shop in Kent.
Helen's mantra was "busy people are happy people" and she lived this to the fullest. She filled her days with international travel; classical music concerts; volunteering for many organizations, especially her church; golfing; bowling; playing bridge, earning her Life Master status in 2001; and socializing with her many friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Magda Fleischmann; sister, Elizabeth Fleischmann Ahrens; and former husband, Jack Yahner. Helen leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Pamela Yahner; her grandchildren, Elise and Alex Yahner; and her cousin, James (Lynn) Fleischmann. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.
