Helen Mae Burkholder

Helen Mae Burkholder (Palumbo), passed away gracefully on February 19, 2025, one day before her 96th birthday. She was born in Star Junction, PA on February 20, 1929, to the late Josephine and Pasquale Palumbo. 

In addition to her parents and eight siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wade Burkholder, in 2012. They were married for 63 years. They were a beautiful couple and enjoyed a wonderful life together as they raised their family. 

Helen is survived by her four children, Patricia Dona (Joe), Nancy Burkholder (Scott King), Victoria Tuccio, and Jeffrey Burkholder (Lu Smith). Helen was also a loving grandmother to Jennifer Bolon (Tom), Stephen Doyle (Claire), Rebecca Tuccio, Jonathan Doyle (Melissa) and Matthew Tuccio. Helen was blessed with the love of six great-grandchildren: Kiersten and Zachary Bolon, Mabel Doyle, Holly and Elwood Doyle and Jagger Triscari. She is also survived by her brother Jerry Palumbo (Dolly) and loved by many nieces and nephews. Being with her family was her greatest joy, as all adored her. Her family will miss her every day!

Helen had previously lived in Hudson and Aurora, Ohio, before moving to Maplewood Senior Living in Twinsburg, Ohio, earlier this year. She will leave a large void in the lives of all who were lucky to have known her.

In honoring her wishes, Helen will be cremated and there will be no public services.
