Helen E. Madonia, 83, of Kent, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center in Copley. She was born July 12, 1926 in Warren, Pennsylvania to Anton and Ida (Schauers) Speas. She was a member of the Red Hats Society. She was dedicated to her granddaughters. She is survived by son, Joseph (Deloris) Madonia of Stow; granddaughters, Heather, Lauren, and Alex; brother, Bob Speas of Ellington, NY; sisters, Margaret Johnson of Meadville, PA, Cecilia Chambers of Ellington, NY, Ruth Slagle of Bemus Point, NY, Doad (Jack) Bloomquist of Falconer, NY, and Joyce (Bill) Franks of Cherry Creek, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Madonia; sister, Doad Marsh; and brothers, Bill Speas and Albert Speas. Her family would like to thank Dr. Scott Rigby and the Hospice Care Center for their extraordinary care and compassion. Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, February 14th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent with Fr. Joe Mamich officiating.
