Hilda G Hornbeck age 101, passed away on November 28th. She was preceded in death by her husband George, sisters Jessie Ruggles and Grace Moore, and brother James Grafhorst. Hilda is survived by her children Sue E Conery and George M (Mary) Hornbeck, 5 grandchildren Lisa (Rick) Corney, Kevin Swing, Adam (Val) Hornbeck, Aaron (Kim) Hornbeck, and Michael Hornbeck. Also survived by 6 great-grandchildren: Geoffrey P.S. Corney [Richmond,CA], Lilia and Cole Hornbeck, and Hunter, Brielle, and Wyatt Hornbeck, and sisters Lois Silvanik [IL] and Connie Pisciotta. Also survived by nieces and a nephew. Survived by very good friends John and Fred Mendiola, Barbara Harrington [Medina], Spike and Rhoda Weaver [Parkman]. Private graveside services were officiated by Rev. Robert Silvanik.
Hilda was born at Akron City Hospital on February 20th, 1917. She graduated from East H.S. in 1935 and married George Hornbeck in September 1938. She lived in Akron Ohio until 1948 and moved to Cuyahoga Falls until 1959. She lived in Medina until 1974 when she built a house in Parkman. She moved in with her daughter, Sue, in Twin Lakes in 1998.
Hilda was president of the welcome wagon in Medina and belonged to King's Daugthers Sunshine Circle. Hilda also belonged to several bridge clubs. Hilda was the gift buyer for the Medina community Hospital's gift shop.
In 1971 Hilda toured Europe for 6 weeks where she visited cousins.
