Gene Irwin Trimble, 84, of Kent, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. He was born August 6, 1925 in St. Clairsville to Paul and Blanche (Craig) Trimble. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marine during the World War II. He was the former owner and operator of Kent Floral. He started working with his father in 1956 and worked until his semi-retirement in 1987. Gene was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Kent, American Legion Post #496, and Rockton Lodge #316 F&AM. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Tuuri) Trimble, whom he married on September 6, 1947; sons, Craig (Joan) Trimble of Scarsdale, New York and Mark (Libby) Trimble of Kent; daughter, Karen (David) Mullenix of Brimfield; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and brother, William Trimble of Ashville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Trimble. Calling hours will be held 3-5 P.M. Sunday, January 31st at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent and one hour before the services. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 1st at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Elizabeth Hazelton and Pastor Douglas Fidler officiating.
