Jack L. Burner, 86, of Ravenna, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at his home.
He was born November 3, 1928 in Philippi, WV to Harlan and Madge (Jones) Burner. A United States Navy veteran, Jack had a successful career in banking at several local banks in the area including, Akron Savings, TransOhio Savings, and Falls Savings. He was a member of Rotary, .Akron Kiwanis, and Ravenna Elks Club. In retirement, Jack worked with his wife at the House of Holiday Ornaments in Ravenna.
An outstanding husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Barbara (Roth) Burner, whom he married on May 11, 1957; son, Michael Burner of Ravenna; daughter, Cathy (Jim) Smith of Kent; grandchildren, Michael J. Smith of Columbus, Jaclyn (John) Bok of Dayton, and Gabriel Smith of Kent; and brother, Henry Burner of Windham. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Madeline Kines and Virginia Squires.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, January 20th at Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. William B. Kraynak officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to RMH Foundation-Hospice, POB 1204, Ravenna, OH 44266-1204.
