Jack F. Nichols

Jack F. Nichols, 87, long-time resident of Kent, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at The Village of St. Edward at Green.  He was born in Meadville, PA to the late Fred D. and Eleanor C. Nichols and proudly served in the United States Army.

Jack earned his master’s degree in counseling from Kent State University.  He began his career as a history teacher at Field Elementary School.  He then went to Crestwood Middle School, where he was a counselor and history teacher, retiring after 30 years in education.  He was very devoted to his wife and children and enjoyed spending time at The Pufferbelly and Dominic’s.  Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Carol Johnston.

Jack leaves his loving wife Joyce Nichols, whom he was never seen without; sons, Stephen Nichols, Kevin (Jaime) Nichols, Jonathan (Jennifer) Nichols and Brian (Kimberly) Nichols; grandchildren, Logan and Annaliese Nichols, Lauren (Evan) Heth, Jordyne, Kaitlyn, Brayden, Luke and Abigail Nichols; and one, much anticipated, great grandchild on the way.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on FRIDAY, July 5, 2024 at 11:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 313 N. Depeyster St. Kent, OH 44240.  Visitation will be SATURDAY, July 6, 2024 from 12:00PM-1:30PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240, followed by a graveside service at 2:00PM at Standing Rock Cemetery.
