James Scott Dalziel, age 62, of Suffield Township, OH, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
James was born December 19, 1961 in Akron, OH to Archibald and Annamarie (Grom) Dalziel.
Jim was the family “ROCK” and the hardest working man you will ever know! After most people would put in an 8-hour day and go home, He would put in a 12-hour day and go home and work an additional four more. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for his family, friends, and someone he never met before.
He had his first job at 15 working on a local farm. He enjoyed a short time as a cook at the Country Kitchen Restaurant and met many friends there. His First full time job was with KST Oil & Gas (Moore Well Services) as a rig operator for 10 years. After that he drove a short time for UPS pulling double and triple trailers. He was later recruited by A & R Transport to haul their tankers and had a steady run from Ohio to PA twice a day. After getting married and starting a family he decided that it was time to get out of the dangers of trucking and find something closer to home. He stepped eagerly into a different area altogether in sales! He was a “natural” because of his ability to communicate with everyone he met and by being the hardest working person in the room! He was recruited later by PPG in Pittsburgh to work as a regional sales manager for their Olympic Paints Division in the Lowes stores. Jim earned several national sales awards during his years there and again, as always, made many friends along the way. When PPG announced the closing of the Olympic Paints in the Lowes stores Jim found his way “home” again to the oil Field with Moore Well Services. He was placed as their Operations Manager/Sales for the AAA Plastics and Palettes Company that they recently purchased. Sales “Boomed” and the company grew each year. Jim was happy once again being a part of a great company/family. Jim enjoyed working a side job occasionally in his later years as a shooter and driver for American Fireworks company.
He was a wonderful husband, father, and a great provider for his family. Jim coached his children in baseball growing up, cheered them on at the BMX track, school basketball games, track events, marching band half time shows, and proudly admired from the audience at dance recitals and competitions. He enjoyed traveling with his family to the beach and later taking cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean with Betsy. Dinners and getting together with friends were always enjoyable for Jim. He loved feeding the deer at home during the winter and watching them on the cameras. Sunday afternoons were a time for a drive in the old “54” Ford Custom line car, family dinners and watching some Nascar on TV. Jim was the ultimate family man.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Betsy (Jones) Dalziel; children, Archibald “Art” J. Dalziel, Scott M. Dalziel, Kathleen “Katie” M. (Dalziel) Kolleth and Husband Kyle; siblings, Jeannie Hinkle and husband Matt, John Dalziel and Wife Wendy; mother, Annamarie (Grom) Dalziel; Sister-In-Law, Amy Barlock and husband Bill Barlock; niece, Alena Barlock, Shayna Mitchen and wife Kirsten, Kayla Goebeler and husband Curtis; nephews, Evan Dalziel, Keon Dalziel, and Alec Barlock.
He was preceded in death by his father, Archibald Dalziel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, June 15, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. David Bridling as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
