James Robert De Julio, age 100, of Kent, died on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at The Gables of KentRidge.
James was born February 24, 1918 in New Rochelle, NY to Christopher and Philomina De Julio. He was a member of the St. James Parish on Long Island. James was a veteran of the Army serving in World War II. James was an avid golfer and was proud of his hole-in-one. He played baseball and turned down playing for the Yankees farm team because of the Depression. He enjoyed bowling, cars, driving and loved playing the drums and dancing.
He is survived by daughter, Maryann DeJulio Kent, OH; son, Thomas (Mary) De Julio Waxhaw, NC; granddaughter, Jean Marie (Thomas) Robinson Waxhaw, NC; great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn Ava Robinson and Christine Elizabeth Robinson both of Waxhaw, NC. He was preceded in death by wife, Michaelene Veronica (Pugliese) De Julio; brother, Christopher De Julio; and sister, Priscilla Murphy.
Calling hours will be held 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday, September 28, 2018 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM Friday. Burial will be held at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood on Long Island, NY.
