James E. "Jim" Nash passed away September 17, 2018 at home with his family around him. He was born March 10, 1936 in Ravenna and has lived in the Kent-Ravenna area his entire life.
Jim retired from Sta-Warm Electric Co. in Ravenna in 2000 after 33 years of employment. He was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kent where he served in many capacities and over saw the construction of two additions of the church building. Jim also was a life member of the Kent Elks where he bowled many years in the Elks bowling league and served as league secretary. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Before his declining health he enjoyed attending the grandchildren's activities. Jim also enjoyed the many summers that was spent at the camper at Lake Wapusun. His family was his greatest joy.
Preceded in death by his parents Albert E. and Viola H. (Shirtliff) Nash; sister, Jane A. Richards. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley A. (Wagner) Nash; son, Donald E. (Susan) of Stafford; daughter, Tracie L. (Mark) Winters, of Kent; grandchildren, Sean Chickos, Abby Winters, and Nathan Winters of Kent; sister, Joan (Donald) Stryffeler of Massillon; two step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. Per his request he was cremated and a visitation with memorial service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 931 E. Main Street, Kent,Ohio 44240, or UH Hospitals Hospice, 4510 Richmond Road, Warrensville Heights, Ohio 44128.
The memorial service for James E "Jim" Nash who passed away on September 17, 2018 will be on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 931 East Main Street, Kent. Friends and family may call from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the church. Private burial will be later.
