James "Jim" G. Anthony, 81, passed away on December 7, 2021.

He was born on December 21, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Ernest Anthony and Sybil Blair.

He was the beloved companion of Jackie Waltz and will be dearly missed by friends and family.  He grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania.  After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Mount Union Ohio where he played football (graduated in 1962) with a Bachelor degree in Science.  He is a Honorary Member leaving a legacy gift to help students financially, so they also may reach their goal and dreams of being successful.  He was a brilliant man and had a zest for life.  He worked hard and was an adventurous man.  He enjoyed traveling all over the world, one place special to Jim that he enjoyed was Lake Tahoe, scuba diving, reading, running, including several marathons, bicycling, boating, music, and flying.  Something that he enjoyed so much, that he got his pilot’s certification.  Cavs games, going to casino’s, Blossom Music Festivals especially seeing and listing to the Cleveland Orchestra and loved animals. Most of all, he enjoyed being with family.  He was the founder and owner of Alloy Extrusion Company in 1978 -2017.  He considered his employees family.  He was an amazing chemist developing too many products to mention.  His abilities had a profound impact on the world we live in.  Jim had a beautiful smile that was infectious.  He had a heart of gold and was very generous, even to strangers and found joy in helping others.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy (Melissa) and sister, Carla Anthony. He is survived by his daughter, Teri Goodenow and sister, Marilyn Anthony (Nick Bastunas).  He also leaves his grandchildren, Megan Anthony, Adam Anthony, Samantha Goodenow, Katie Goodenow as well as nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.  Jackie’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Jim considered part of his family.

A special thanks the Rootstown Fire Department, and to Hazel Monroe for her compassionate care of taking care of Jim.
