She was active in the Delta Gamma sorority and the Ohio State Retired Teachers Association. She was the oldest member of the Streetsboro High School Alumni Association. Being a cancer survivor, Jane participated in the Reach for Recovery Program and was a board member of the Portage County Visiting Nurse Association from 1984 to 1990.
One of her most endearing associations was with the Old Dominion Chapter of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. Throughout her participation she held numerous offices including Regent and loved her country and its bountiful freedoms. A lifelong Methodist, Jane belonged to the Streetsboro Methodist Church and enjoyed the Riverside group. Over the years she relished her many groups including Ladies of the Club and bridge club.
Always active, Jane loved sewing. From making her daughters clothes, including wedding dresses, she even made majorette uniforms for her husband's high school bands. She loved gardening especially canning and preserving the harvest. Jane was passionate about music, she played the violin and piano and said she always had a song in her thoughts. She endeared herself to enumerable friends and loved their company. She loved traveling and traveled extensively throughout the country culminating with Alaska and a trip to Europe. But most of all she loved to walk in her maple woods (Sugarbush) experiencing the changing seasons and all the vibrant colors and scenes.
