Jay Adrain LeBlanc, 59, of Kent, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Jay was born in Bossier City, Louisiana, to Joseph and Elaine (Douthitt) LeBlanc.
He served in the U.S. Navy while earning his master’s degree from William & Mary. He had a love of history and scuba diving, a steady habit of reading, and a lifelong talent for building or fixing just about anything—often with more determination than instruction. Jay never missed an opportunity for a terrible dad joke—if only for the satisfaction of cracking himself up.
He is survived by his mother, Elaine LeBlanc of Kent, OH; daughters, Danielle Chaffin (Timothy) of Strongsville, OH; Cassidy Porter Walsh (Alexandra) of League City, TX; and Meredith LeBlanc of Lakewood, OH. He was survived by a longtime friend and former spouse, Lisa Phillips LeBlanc (Robert Becaj Jr) of Olmsted Falls, OH; sister, Jodanna Hedderly of Columbus, OH, grandchildren, Charlie, Quinn, and Leland, and was looking forward to the arrival of another grandson, Callahan; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph LeBlanc.
A private graveside ceremony with military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
Services in care of Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main St. Kent, Ohio 44240.
