After a long and wonderful life filled with family and love, Jeanette (Antonelli) Felton of Rootstown passed peacefully in her sleep on February 4, 2018.
Jeanette was born March 23, 1935 to Julia and Ascenzo Antonelli of Kent, OH. She attended Kent City Schools and growing up was a faithful member of St. Patrick's Church of Kent.
On June 1, 1957, Jeanette married her true love, Frank "Jug" Felton, also of Kent. During their nearly 60 years together, Jeanette for a time worked part-time for Italian Village in Kent, but primarily devoted her life to being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt.
Jeanette enjoyed feeding and watching the birds on her windowsill and in her yard, gardening, canning peppers, cooking for her family and watching her beloved Pittsburg Steelers. Her favorite pastime of all, however, was being always beside her husband Jug, who called her his "Pretty girl" every day for 60 years and being surrounded by her family.
Jeanette is survived by her children Kim Bishop (Charlie Flynt) of Kent, Cheryl (Gordon) Ripley of Kent, Marcy (the late Jimmy) Miller of Rootstown, Frank Felton of Rootstown, and Stephanie (J.D.) Langguth of Rootstown; grandchildren Don Jr., Matt, Kyle, Becca, Geoffrey, Dacoda, Dominique, Chris and Julia; and greatgrandchildren Shantz, Ari, Owen, Arrianna, Paityn, Landyn and Grayson. She is also survived by her loving nieces, Lori and Renee of New York, Debbie of Barberton and Denise of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father, her sisters Patty and Fran and many beloved aunts, uncles and family members.
"Una mamma Italiana e' una benedizione di dio" translated means, "An Italian mother is a blessing from heaven." Her children could not have asked for a better mother, who for them will always be an everlasting example of love, kindness, generosity and strength. They will miss her every day of their lives, but find comfort and peace in their memories, and knowing their parents are reunited.
Calling hours will be held 6-9 PM Thursday, February 8th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, where funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, February 9th. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
