On the afternoon of May 1, 2023, Jeffrey William Snyder passed away at his home in Kent, Ohio. Born to the late William L. Snyder, and Carole M. Snyder (Frye) on April 2 1959, in Akron Ohio, Jeff is survived and loved by his two children, Margo Harmon (Larry) and Steve Snyder. Also survived by his sister Pam Baughman (Alan), and his brother John Snyder (Wanda), his nieces and nephews Alana Dickerhoof (Doug), Rein Baughman, Kayla Snyder, and John William Snyder.
Jeff attended high school at Akron Central Hower where he studied commercial art and graduated in 1978. He went on to continue his art education at The University of Akron. He worked alongside his father at Stan Hywet, and later moved to Georgia where he worked at Roher Corporation as a commercial offset pressman. He later moved to Akron and worked at Portage Country Club for several years.
Jeff adored his two children, Margo and Steve. He was always attentive to their interests, often bringing home a new craft to teach them, or building them something to encourage their hobbies. His happiest times were being on Lake Lanier in Georgia, camping and fishing with his family on a boat that he restored himself, or on the kayak that he built from scratch.
Quite an accomplished artist, he found joy in his many mediums; from drawing, painting, woodworking, to wood burning and fly tying. Jeff was always adding beauty to the world around him. In his later years, he didn’t let his injuries hold him back from creating. He continued to produce special drawings and gifts for the people in his life that they will treasure forever. His memory lives on through the many gifts he gave to the world, and the people who love him. His laughter lit up a room, and his quick wit was always ready to encourage you to laugh with him. He will be sorely missed and will always remain in our hearts.
