Jenny Gillis, 94, died Thursday, August 19th 2010 at Country Elegance in Edinburg, where she had been a resident for seven years. Previously she resided in Streetsboro. She was born July 22, 1916 in Cleveland, to Stanley and Mary (Zekonis) Bachulis. She retired from the Kent Free Library, where she was assistant to the manager Carmen Celgoj, for over 24 years. Jenny was a graduate of Streetsboro High School and Kent State University with a Masters Degree in Library Science. Jenny was an accomplished gourmet cook, talented seamstress, and creative in interior decorating, having written a hard cover book on the subject. She was a member of the Streetsboro United Methodist Church. She is survived by her good friends John and Bonnie Zuchniak and Terry Montz, Owner of Country Elegance. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard Gillis and brother Ben (Christine) Bachulis. There will be no services. Entombment will be at Standing Rock Cemetery.
