Joan E. Marsh, 76, of Kent, died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Akron City Hospital Medical Center.
She was born January 12, 1930, in Akron, to Dr. Charles and Laura (Nichols) DeGruchy. She received a five year nursing degree from Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve and retired as nursing supervisor from the Summit County Health Department. She like to travel, enjoyed cultural activities especially music and art, and the outdoors.
She is survived by her husband, Duane Marsh; son, Jeffery (Denise) Marsh of Ravenna; sister, Grace (Jack) Musch of Hudsonville; two step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren ; niece, many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Jay Marsh; and her beloved dog, Taffy.
Calling hours will be held 7-9 P.M. Tuesday at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, in Kent where funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday with Rev. Carol S. Evans officiating. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Parkinson's Foundation, Northeast Region, POB 271, Tallmadge, OH 44278-0271
