JoAnn Morris Brown, 75, of Aurora, Colorado passed away January 23, 2013.
Born in Kent, Ohio, the oldest daughter of Jayne Gougler Morris and Webb Morris, she graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri with a degree in Fine Arts, and later married Ted L. Brown in 1957. An avid painter, reader and gardener, she raised her family of four daughters in Hudson and later in Aurora, Colorado.
She is survived by her daughters, Vicky (Keith) Mahn-DiNicola of Tucson, Valery (Christopher) Godino of Las Vegas, and Deirdre Haney (Paul) of Denver; grandchildren, Katherine and Michael Mahn, Genevieve and Gage Godino, and Ted and Marjorie Haney; great grandchildren, Vanessa Pollock and Charlotte Mahn; her sister's husband, Marsh Lane of Ravenna; and niece, Elizabeth (Darrin) Lane Chapin of Warren. She is preceded in death by her sister Judith Morris Lane, her brother, Charles Morris and her daughter, Vanessa Brown.
A celebration of life was held on January 26th for her many friends and family in Colorado. A graveside ceremony for friends and family will be held 10:00 AM Friday, February 8th at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Please share your memories of JoAnn at HoranCares.com.
