John Albert Daugintis, 68, peacefully passed away on October 6, 2021, following an extended illness. John was born on January 13, 1953, in Akron, Ohio, to Albert & Leona Daugintis. He attended Stow High School and was a Navy veteran. John is preceded in death by his parents; in-laws Red and Mildred Phillips, brother-in-law Ron Phillips, and niece Shauna Daugintis.
John is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Judy (Phillips) Daugintis, sons John (Rebecca), Brian, Jeff (Barb), and Josh (Lauren) Daugintis; his eleven grandchildren, Brad, Sebastian, Katie, Daniel, Raegan, Brycen, Amelia, Elisabeth, James, Braylin, and JoJo; his brothers Steven (Glenna) and Mike (Beth) Daugintis; sister Susan (Bernie) Howard; several nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
John spent his life working in maintenance and there was nothing that he couldn’t fix, build or mend. He could often be found working on something in his garage, and was always willing to lend a hand to others. In his younger days John loved to bowl, hunt, fish and camp. Everyone that knew John has a story about him that puts a smile on their face. His sense of humor and good nature made him a friend to many. But mostly, John loved time with his family, especially his grandkids.
His family will hold a private celebration of life, at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of John may do so by calling The Hope Lodge at 1-800-227-2345.
