John "Jack" McAllister Yohe, 85, of Kent, died Friday, May 2, 2014 at Akron City Hospital Medical Center.
He was born January 17, 1929 in Monessen, PA to Donald H. and Margaret (Fohner) Yohe. He retired from the Navy as a Captain and Naval Aviator. Jack taught math, was a Guidance Counselor and enjoyed coaching basketball and track in the Twinsburg School system for 35 years. After retiring from the Twinsburg Schools he taught in Anderson, SC for five years. He was a member of the Kent United Methodist Church and enjoyed numerous hobbies through the years. Jack was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (England) Yohe, whom he married on July 3, 1953; son, John Mark Yohe of Kent; daughters, Jill (Paul) McDonald of Minneola, FL and Beth Galloway of Kent; grandchildren, Alex Buckbee, C.J. Galloway, Elaina Galloway, Emily Tompkin and Mark Brown; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Margaret Yohe; and sister, Donna Hope.
Graveside services and military honors will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 6th at Standing Rock Cemetery with Rev. Dr. David Palmer officiating. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements.
