Joseph Arango, 95, of Fairlawn and formerly of Kent, died Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Village of St. Edward.
He was born September 26, 1921 in Tampa, FL to Jose` and Rufina (Garcia) Arango. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick Church. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who dedicated his life to his family and his work. Joseph retired from Chrysler Corporation after 30 years as an Electrical Tool Engineer.
He is survived by sons, John (Laura) Arango of The Villages, FL, Joe (Laura) Arango of Smithfield, VA, Ed Arango of Lake Milton and David (Denise) Arango of Lewis Center; daughters, Diane (Matt) Fleming of Peninsula and Mary Louise Arango of Medina; fourteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth (Desmond) Arango; sisters, Matilda Arango and Esther Daugherty.
Funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM Friday, October 21 at St. Patrick Church with Father Richard Pentello officiating. Calling hours will be held from 9:15 AM until the time of mass. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Village of St. Edward Foundation, 3131 Smith Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333 or Hospice of the Visiting Nurse, 3358 Ridgewood Drive, Akron, OH 44333.
