Joyce Elaine Riley

Joyce Elaine Riley, age 85, of Ravenna, OH, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025.

Joyce was born May 19,1939 in Elyria, OH to Carl and Marjorie (Conover) Niemeyer.

Joyce will be remembered for her quick wit, boundless generosity, and unwavering love for those around her. She had a gift for bringing people together, serving as the heart and soul of her family. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life, guiding her every step with grace, compassion, and an open heart. She lived out her beliefs through acts of kindness, always putting others before herself and finding joy in serving those in need. Her warmth and love extended beyond bloodlines—she embraced her daughters-in-law as her own, showering them with the same devotion she gave to her children. Joyce’s laughter was contagious, her wisdom invaluable, and her presence a source of comfort and strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love, unity, and faith, and though she is now in the presence of her Savior, her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Reverend Douglas Riley; sons, Thomas (Jennifer), Michael (Lori), and James (Jessica) Riley; as well as grandchildren, Emily (Reed) Worthington, Katie, Sarah, and Kayden Riley; she is also survived by her brother, Alan (Eleanor) Niemeyer and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother, James; sister-in-law, Judith; and niece, Betsy Niemeyer.

Calling hours will be held 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Tallmadge Lutheran, 759 East Ave, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278, followed by Funeral services at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Andy Alberts officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Joyce’s name to the Tallmadge Lutheran Church.
