Judith Lee Price, 67, of Kent, passed unexpectedly November 27, 2017 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna.
Judith was born May 3, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA to Paul and Dorothy (Smedley) Bond. She became a resident of Kent upon completion of her undergrad degree at Kent State University in 1973.
Judith was drawn to Kent State University because of their specialized hearing and vision impaired educational program and her desire to become a teacher. She graduated from Kent State University and went on to teach for 35 years with Kent City Schools as a Special Education teacher. During her first year of teaching, Judy became a member of the United Methodist Church of Kent. Through her involvement in the church; she was a chair of Rebecca Circle, she served as a head usher, and volunteered in various other committees and mission opportunities. Her and her husband also enjoyed participating in the Garden Club of Kent. Additionally, she was involved in The P.E.O. Sisterhood, a Philanthropic Educational Organization, as a past president. Judy loved to knit and make gifts for her family and friends. She was an avid traveler with her husband and grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy E. Price, whom she married on September 1, 1973; son, Andrew Price of Chicago, IL; daughters, Megan (Chris) Lantz of Tallmadge and Devon (Glen) Kruger of Kent; grandchildren, Cameron, Jackson, Grayson, Braedon, Colbie; mother, Dorothy (Smedley) of Wayne, PA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Lucas.
Calling hours will be held 1-3 and 5-7 PM Friday, December 1st at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory in Kent. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 2nd at The United Methodist Church of Kent with Rev. Dr. David Palmer and Rev. Douglas Denton officiating.
