Julia A. Rizzo

Julia A. Rizzo, 100, formerly of Kent, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Arbors at Stow (Maison Aine).

She was born February 24, 1916 in Cleveland to Frank and Aniela (Adamik) Laskos. In 1938, she married her husband, Herman C. Rizzo and they lived all their 56 years together in the Kent/Ravenna area. She was a member of St. Patrick Church and its Infant Jesus of Prague Guild. She worked at Parker Hannifin in Kent. Some of her very favorite things are her grandchildren, guardian angels, birthday parties, and her kitties. After retirement, she enjoyed travelling with her family. She loved to bake, mostly Polish pastries and she will be remembered for her love of gardening and crocheting.

She is survived by Donald Rizzo of Lake Worth, FL, Veronica Katz of Powell, Cynthia (James) Goldsmith of Stow, and David (Donna) Rizzo of Delray Beach, FL; grandchildren, Dana (Aaron) Hervey of Akron and Michael (Karen) Goldsmith of Wooster, Dawn Rizzo of Delray Beach and Deena Rizzo of Delray Beach; and great grandchildren, Cameron, Kylah, Ian, and Micah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. Rizzo in 1994; son-in-law, Walter Katz; brothers, Edward Laskos, Joe Laskos, Stanley Laskos, and Walter Laskos; and sisters, Helen Lemon and Lottie Grudosky.

The family wishes to thanks the staff at Arbors at Stow for their loving care over the years.

Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Sunday, December 4th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 5th at St. Patrick Church with Father Richard Pentello officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
