June Mueller Baldwin, age 83 of Kent died February 10, 2013 at home. She was born on July 22, 1929 in Brockville Ontario Canada to her mother Marjorie Church and was raised by Kurt and Stella Mueller of Cleveland, Ohio. June and her sister Ruth grew up together and they were always very close. She was educated in the Cleveland Schools and graduated from Flora Stone Mather College of Western Reserve with honors and attended Kent State University Graduate School.
June was an active member of the Theta Phi Omega Sorority. She taught High School Home Economics in Euclid and Garrettsville Ohio. She also worked at B.F. Goodrich as a Lab Technician. June married Gervias (Jerry) C. Baldwin on August 9, 1952 at the Euclid Avenue Baptist Church in Cleveland Ohio. She retired from working upon the birth of her children and devoted her life to being a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, friend and homemaker.
June loved to sing. She sang in the church choir and was a member of the United Church of Christ in Kent and other professional groups. She was a member of the Kent Zeta Omicron of Delta Omicron Music Fraternity. Her other love was playing bridge. She was an avid bridge player at the Cuyahoga Women's Club and the Twin Lakes Country Club. June's hobby was crocheting baby quilts and loved to give baby quilts to family and friends who have cherished them for many years.
June is survived by her husband Gervias (Jerry) C Baldwin; sons, Geoffrey (Rosemarie) C. Baldwin of Diamond and G Christopher (Juli) Baldwin of Stow; grandchildren Geoffrey C Baldwin Jr. and Deanna Marie Baldwin of Diamond and Emily Catherine Baldwin of Stow; nephews and nieces Ralph (Janet) Gaeke of Fountain CO, June Gaeke of Leverett MA, Barbara Hoops of Tulsa OK, Kristen Baldwin of Raleigh NC, Rory Baldwin of Raleigh NC, Dana (Keith) Lorenz of Raleigh NC and many good friends. She was preceded by her sister Ruth (Ed) Gaeke and nephew Bradford Baldwin of Austin TX.
A family burial service will be held at Acacia Memorial Park in Cleveland Ohio. Memorials can be made to the Music Fund of the United Church of Christ, 1400 East Main St., Kent Ohio 44240.
