June D. Dressel

Kent - June D. Dressel, 96, passed away January 24, 2025 with her son Don by her side.

 Born in Hartville, she was a lifetime area resident and a member of the United Methodist Church. June was a single mother who took on both parental responsibilities after the early death of her husband. She was a devoted and doting grandmother, a treasured sister from a close family with many nieces and nephews who remember their aunt fondly, and a dear friend to many who cared deeply for her as she did for them. June retired from the Streetsboro school system after 30+ years where she served as Biology teacher and department head and is remembered for preparing her students well for life. She loved the study of nature, gardening, shopping, traveling, keeping up with current events and spoiling her canine friend, Bernie. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great grandchild, due in February.

 June was preceded in death by her parents, Ira V. and Catherine (Upperman) Machamer; her husband William; her son Richard; her sisters Pauline Reichenbaugh, Jessie Laiblin, Ruth Kuhn, Marie Kisor, Betty Mallernee and Iris Grisak; her brothers, Verlee, Chester, John, Adam and Paul Machamer; and her valued friend Bernard Cortese. 

 She is survived by her son Donald (Terese) Dressel; grandchildren Kailee (Wyatt) La Pointe and Elise Dressel, many nieces and nephews, as well as their spouses and children.

 Friends are invited to Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 628 W Main St, Kent, OH 44240 for visitation on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM, funeral services will start at 11:00 AM, and a private burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greenford, OH.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
