June G. Young, 89, of Kent, died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. She was born October 9, 1920 in South Fork, Pennsylvania to Joseph Edgar and Ethel Pearl (Davis) Dingle. She was retired from Kent State University where she worked in Food Service Management for over 30 years. One of the highlights of her career was organizing and managing the meals for the Cleveland Browns when they trained at Kent State. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kent, joining the church in 1933 where she was also a member of the Rachel and Miriam Circles. She was a member of the Parkinson's Support Group, Olive Chapter #53 - Order of the Eastern Star, 20 Year Club at Kent State University, and the Navy Mothers. She bowled many years at Twin Star Lanes and enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in Mesa, Arizona and Sarasota, Florida. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Spending time with her family was most important to her. In earlier years, her grandchildren looked forward to spending the night at Grandma's house. With her kind and caring nature, she was always ready to lend a helping hand- from serving on various committees at church, to caretaking, or even baking your favorite homemade pie. She resided at Kent Ridge on Golden Pond for the last two years. She really enjoyed the lifestyle and loving care she received there. Special thanks to Dr. Sahney, the loving and caring nurses and assistants in the Palliative Care Unit, and the Hospice staff at Robinson. The family would also like to thank the entire staff at Kent Ridge, especially those she considered her special friends for providing a better quality of life. She is survived by daughters, Donna (Raymond) Dietz of Kent, Patricia Kline of Sarasota, Florida, and Marsha (Joseph) Olesky of Kent; grandchildren, Bill, Paula, Chris, Tim, Becky, Raymond Jr., Michelle, Marijo, Joey, Randy, and Jerry; fifteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
