Katherine Gardner

Katherine Gardner, 93, of Kent, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 in the comfort of her home.  She was born in Ravenna on April 6, 1931 to the late James and Vera Imperial and was a 1949 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School.

Katherine worked in retail for several years.  She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and ran the social hall at the VFW.  She enjoyed cooking and baking and would often cater different events.  She was very crafty and enjoyed crocheting and sewing clothing for her family.  Katherine loved going to her grandchildren’s sporting events and will always be remembered for her wooden spoon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Ronald Gardner; her daughter Ronda Read; son-in-law Lorrin Read and sister Frances Leslie.

She leaves her children, Robin (Roy) Gerlach, Rayne Gardner, Ronald (Gay) Gardner and Rebecca (Terry) Davis; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Jean Weiss and JoAnn Hartman and her best friend Delores Brant-Tesla.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 11:00AM at Restland Cemetery.
