Katherine M. Kasper, age 75 of Kent, passed away March 1, 2023 at UH Portage Medical Center. She was born October 10, 1947 to Harry and Catherine Maddox in Barberton, Ohio.
Education was a huge part of her life. She attended Akron University and Kent State University and held multiple Master’s degrees in English, French and Library Science. Over her more than 40 years of teaching, she inspired thousands of children and young adults who attended the Waterloo School system.
Katherine infused joy, creativity and love into every aspect of her life. Her many hobbies and creative endeavors sparked creativity from those around her. If you had never painted, practiced yoga or crocheted before in your life - you absolutely did after you spent a bit of time with her.
Family and friends were of the utmost importance to her. The youngest of 9 children, Katherine fostered continued connections with her siblings throughout her life. Family get togethers always included hours and hours of singalongs, craft creations and magical memories. Her many friend groups included yoga, line dancing, bible study and energy work to name just a few. Her friendship and family bonds of love were deep and strong and she cherished them all. “We belong to each other.” ❤️

“Allow all to be well
As I cannot change what
Is or what will be except
By allowing all to be well.
Allow dreams to change.
Allow what creates itself to breathe.
Allow surprise its space to interrupt.
Allow the difference.”
