Kathryn Ann Hiryok, 74, of Kent, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at her home.
She was born in 1942 in Warren to Edward and Mary Lukco. She attended Kent State University, majoring in fine arts. After working at Warren Otologic Group for many years she embarked on a successful career in fundraising, first for the Israel Tennis Centers then for Project Interchange, an institute of the American Jewish Committee, retiring in 2008. She was a talented artist, inspired by her love of nature and flowers to create works of art in water colors, oils, mosaics, stained glass, pressed flowers, and collages. A master gardener, she enjoyed traveling and gardening in her spare time.
She is survived by son, Daniel (Beth) Hiryok of Cayman Islands; daughter, Janine Hiryok of Mt. Airy, MD; grandchildren, Kaden Hiryok and Kameron Hiryok; brothers, Edward Lukco of Newark and Michael (Michelle) Lukco of Warren; and sister, Anna Marie Lukco of Warren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Hiryok in 1971.
