Kathryn Corene Sheets

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kathryn Corene Sheets (Zimmer), of Mogadore, Ohio, who left us on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the age of 80 years old.

She was born July 20, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio to Pearl and Ruth (Warner) Zimmer.

Kathryn grew up in Orient, Ohio and attended school in Commercial Point. Her caring soul and desire to help was always at the forefront of her being, especially as she graduated from Akron University with a teaching degree. She went on to work with people with developmental disabilities for over 20 years at the Weaver School and Workshop. Kathryn’s caring nature naturally extended to her beloved Arabian horses and her many pet and feral farm cats.

Kathryn was a member of the choir at Advent Lutheran Church in Uniontown, OH and attended services at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Massillon, OH. In her spare time, she enjoyed her classes with Silver Sneakers and visiting the Hartville Marketplace.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Alexis Rich. Kathryn is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Larry Jay Sheets. Together they had two children Scott Sheets and Janet Teung (John), and three grandchildren, Anthony Rich (Heather), Courtney Neveau, and Steffany Neveau. She also leaves behind her brothers, Jim Zimmer (Lynne) and George Zimmer (Tricia), and her sister, Mary Reinoehl. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
