Kathy "Mary Kathleen" (Young) Lilley

Kathy Lilley, age 92, of Kent, OH, passed away of natural causes at home on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

She was born September 9, 1931 in Berea, OH to Charles and Tullis (McCreight) Young.

Kathy worked at Thompson’s Drug in the center of Kent for years before she became the Kent Welcome Wagon Hostess.  There was a period in time when she knew everyone in town.  She attended KSU (Art), was a member of Coterie, PEO, Garden Club, AFS (American Field Service) and sang in the choir at the Episcopal church.

She is survived by children, Jon T. Lilley, Ian C. (Julie Lang) Lilley, Mary K. (Chuck) Sitko, grandchildren, Whitney (Danny) Foore, and Shelby (Tim) Pepin; great grandson, Asher Foore; and all her AFS kids from all over the world.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Lilley and her parents, Charles & Tullis Young.

Calling hours are 1:30pm to 3:30pm Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Christ Episcopal Church, 118 S Mantua St, Kent, OH 44240 with a Celebration of Life immediately following with Mother Mary officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kent Free Library.
