Kay Ann Vardaris, 76, of Brimfield, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Hospice Care Center in Copley.
She was born February 20, 1936 in Detroit, MI to Byron and Katherine (Pinten) Vatter.
Kay achieved a Masters of Psychology from Albion College in May of 1957, and a Masters of Religious Education from Union Theological seminary of New York City in 1959. She was a dedicated deacon to her congregation, interim Christian educator at the United Church of Christ. She served the community by being a Communion giver to the home-bound, part of Kent Callers, mentoring to the young, and educating those with special needs. She was a Champion of human rights, selfless philanthropist, devoted and loving mother, grandmother and wife.
She is survived by sons, Paul (Gretchyn) Vardaris of Lakewood, and Matthew (Tiffany) Vardaris of Columbus; grandchildren , Nicholas L. Vardaris, Zachary B. Vardaris ,and Corwin Arvin all of Lakewood ; sister, Gail (David) Devore of Pinehurst, NC.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Richard M. Vardaris (September 18th, 2012).
Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at United Church of Christ of Kent 1400 E. Main Street Kent, Oh 44240 with Rev. Heather C. Wicks and Rev. David Pattee officiating.
