Larry W. Rollyson, 73, of Ravenna went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 11, 2022. Larry was born in Weston, WV to the late Russell and Mildred Rollyson and was a 1969 graduate of Akron North High School. He was firstly a follower of Jesus, a muscle car lover, the #1 fan of Elvis and avid watcher of “Gunsmoke”. He was an all-around good guy that would always go out of his way to help others.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. After returning home, he met and married his devoted wife of 49 years Linda in 1973. Together they raised three children. His exposure to Agent Orange led him to be diagnosed at the age of 58 with Parkinson’s Disease which he battled like a soldier for 15 years.
He was a member of Suffield Fellowship, where he enjoyed the Men’s Ministry Group, attending functions when he was able. He retired after 29 years of service at W. L. Tucker Supply Company in Cuyahoga Falls.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Pat Swisher, brother Jerry Rollyson, sister and brother-in-law Betty and Jack Garton, and nephew Sammy Fisher.
He leaves his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Rollyson; sons Derek (Carrie) Rollyson, Ryan (Beth) Rollyson, daughter Shannon (Dan) Wood; 10 wonderful grandchildren, who called him Grandpa Duke; mother-in-law Gwen Arnold; sister Diane Schultz (Joe), and many nieces and nephews who referred to him as their favorite Uncle Larry. He leaves behind many friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Suffield Fellowship Church, 1669 Waterloo Rd. Mogadore, OH. 44260.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Suffield Fellowship Church with Pastor Jim Shuman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday at the church.
Graveside military honors immediately following service at Hillside Cemetery, Randolph, OH.
