Lauren Pia-Vavra

Lauren Pia-Vavra, 67, of Kent, passed away, unexpectedly, on Friday, July 5, 2024.  She was born in Natick, MA on April 23, 1957 to the late Albert and Viola Pia.  Lauren earned her master’s degree in dietary science from Kent State University.  She was a registered dietician at Robinson Memorial/UH Portage for many years.  She enjoyed reading, traveling and watching hockey and will always be remembered as a loving and caring mother, not just to her children, but to others in the community as well.

In addition to her parents, Lauren was preceded in death by her husband Michael R. Vavra on May 12, 2015.

She leaves her children, Andrew (Tia) Vavra, Robert Vavra, Alexander Vavra and Michelle (Bryce) Vavra; and her brother Alan (Betty) Pia.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 12:00PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 931 E. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.  A private burial and committal service for the family will follow.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in her name, to Faith Lutheran Church of Kent.
