On the afternoon of Saturday, April 30, 2016, the spring rain showers coincided with Lenore's graceful parting from us and her entrance into God's presence. Many dear friends and family in Kent and beyond knew Lenore as a beloved wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, supportive sister, and the best friend anyone could have. Her service to God, family and the community took shape in 18 years of nursing care at Robinson Memorial Hospital's Labor and Delivery ward, bringing joy and delight to others through service and prayer at Christ Church Episcopal in Kent, as well as her ability to deliver words of encouragement and humorous wit to everyone she encountered. Though Lenore suffered from multiple health illnesses and a number of grave injustices in her journey, she was the face of grace and compassion through it all. Lenore rose above many obstacles to laugh hard, eat well, love relentlessly and to savor life to its fullest.
Lenore was preceded in her heavenly arrival by her father, John L. Williams; mother, Katherine S. Williams; and the beloved husband of her youth, Randolph "Jake" Whiteleather, amongst many other dear ones and stray felines she lured into her home with tuna over the years. We know she will be watching over her beloved husband Richard C. Goist; loving daughter, Morgan E. W. Tipton and wonderful son-in-law, Benjamin Tipton; precious grandchildren, Finn & Silas Tipton; cherished sister Katherine E. Gifford, and all those she loved here so well. As Matthew 25:21 says, "'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'" Please come and share in our grief and hope as we release Lenore with joy into the arms of Christ the Lord.
